WHAT THE FOOT?

I know right? I was thinking the same thing. What's with the kicks man? Ay Dos Mio! Are you going loco? What the foot man?

Educate yourself people. When it comes to working out and running, everything depends on your feet. I have recently been studying Pose. The pose method is a technique of running that includes the balls of your feet. The natural forces in running are gravity, ground reaction (Newton's Third Law of Motion), torque (The re-direction of energy to get foward movement in running), momentum and inertia, muscle contraction and muscle elasticity.

When I see people run, I see them running against these natural forces, and I always get that aggravated reaction like when someone scratches a chalk board with their nails. The "correct" way to run, allegedly, is from the heels of your feet...- Yeah right. Running this way destroys your knees. You are pounding on mother earth for no reason (What did she do to you?). You are using far too much energy than you need to keep a pace that will eventually get you hurt. With pose comes ease. You are letting gravity do the work. The way I see the pose method to work is because you are not really running. Your legs act as springs as you continuously fall forward.

Let the balls of your feet react to the ground. The more you pound the ground, the more energy is exerted back to your legs which makes your legs very vulnerable to injury. As you let your body react to this motion, you are literally becoming a human lever. You are easily moving forward with minimal effort. This is because you are building momentum, the product of mass and velocity (Thanks Euler!).

Now are you ready for a scare?

I consider it to be one of the biggest scams ever. Shoes. Think about it. It's a big industry and in running a lot of money is being situated with shoes. The science keeps getting updated and the shoes are always newer to back up the science. Yet, people are still getting hurt, and the injuries are what the big shoe companies like. It's a loop that people get stuck in, and for some reason they are told to run a certain way. What does pose support? They encourage running as bare foot as possible (and some people actually do). What did the cave men do?! They did not have any fancy shoes to run with. THEY WERE BAREFOOTED! If you go outside barefooted and start running the way you do, I guarantee you that you will stop running on your heals because it will hurt like hell! You will start to walk on the balls of your feet because it feels more comfortable that way. It's our body's natural desire. We were made that way. We were made to run, and to run on the balls of your feet, not the heels. Look up my fellow Crossfitters on Youtube. See what's on their feet. The souls are flat, the shoes are light, some are barefooted and surley a few have the five fingers (That funky looking shoe up their that is starting to make a hell of a lot more sense).

Whether it be Chi or Pose or something else I don't know, please be a rebel. Please be smart.

Please be aware of what the foot is going on in this world today!
